Strategy for Defeating Diaprax

“Finally, my brethren, be empowered, strengthened, in the Lord, and in the strength of the might of Him. Clothe yourself with the full, complete armor, including shield, sword, lance, helmet, greaves, and breastplate of God-of God’s presence, and from God, provided by God, in order for you to be able to stand against the methods (Greek. methodias), the scheming, the craftiness of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10,11 (Greek, amplified)

The Orientation of the Soul

There are often imperceptible, yet deeply profound changes that take place in a person’s spiritual life based on what enter that person’s mind and heart. The Lord called upon His people to be a Country people, a Wilderness people, a Mountain people-to move out of the cities a century ago, as the cities became hotbeds of iniquity. He warned that city life is false and artificial. The invasion of personal space by a crush of humanity devastates the spiritual powers of the soul.

Cultivating the Reality of God’s Presence

In Country Living, the Lord explains why country living is so important. “Cut off to a great degree from contact with and dependence upon men, and separated from the world’s corrupting maxims and customs and excitements, they would come nearer to the heart of nature. God’s presence would be more real to them. Many would learn the lesson of dependence upon Him. Through nature, they would hear His voice speaking to their hearts of His peace and love, and mind, soul, and body would respond to the healing, life-giving power. –MH 190-192. (1905)

Moses, Elijah, and John the Baptist all knew about this. Surrounded by the mountains and deserts, there was little to distract the mind from knowing and depending upon God. God becomes real to the soul. God becomes more important than interpersonal human relationships. This is critical to salvation. Discipleship rests upon it. Jesus said that if any man would be His disciple, he must come to Him hating father, mother, wife, children, brethren and sisters, and even his own life, or he cannot be His disciple. Luke 14:26.

The Reality of God’s Presence Precedes Christ’s Call to Discipleship

If God is not real to a person, this first element, this first condition, of discipleship will not take place. We must be trained to hear His voice in the soul, separate and distinct from all other voices. This takes time this takes separation.  Consider the days when America was young. There was no television, no radio, no Internet.

The intensity of the bombardment of the soul with the things of man was not there in the life of the wilderness. However, there was the Bible, nature, field, woods, and mountains-the things that imperceptibly draw the soul to a defined and real knowledge of God. When the truth of Adventism swept the nation in the 1840s, multitudes recognized the voice of God in it, saw that it was Biblically based, and accepted.

Technology Has Spread Evil Everywhere

However, today the soul is bombarded with humanity, with humanity’s corruption and vileness. The city has penetrated everywhere through technology, and the young walk along with it pounding its vileness into the soul through earphones. It is everywhere. Even farmers in the combine today have air-conditioned cabs and the media bombarding their minds with the demonic culture of the day. God is cut off from the soul. What of the young people? Virtually every influence tends toward hell.

“Christians” With an Alien Orientation

All of this means that when the person does not want to be a Christian but does not experience a repentance not to be repented of, they are filled with an orientation that is alien to the Holy Spirit, and their “Christianity” becomes one that is dominated by man rather than God. Conviction is dim; character is shaped by the culture of man, rather than the culture of the Word of God.

Such people are ripe for dialectical praxis, which has as its basis the destruction of conviction, the destruction of the hold on God, and the destruction of true faith and conscience, and the redirection of the soul to making human interpersonal relationships the dominant issue. The soul is suffocated. The person who puts the relationship with God in all areas first, rather than putting interpersonal relationships first, is looked upon as “unloving” and “maladjusted.” His convictions are looked upon as suspect, as strange, as unheard of, as detrimental to “love and unity.” The church group moves in, the pastor moves in, to eliminate these “pre-set” ideas that are so unrealistic, so out of touch with a society that claims to be Christian, yet does not know God.

Only as one knows God personally, really, experientially, and clearly and unequivocally puts God’s voice above the attenuated voices of man, is there hope for the soul. To do battle with dialectical praxis, the person must have an ironclad character, anchored in actual union with Christ by faith, in steel conviction that will not let go of the voice of God. The soul at every point must be garrisoned.

Doing Battle With Dialectical Praxis

  1. Recognize that true conviction, based on a sound understanding of the Word, instilled by the Holy Spirit, is evidence in your soul of the Holy Spirit’s presence. Thus, true conviction is the authority of God Himself in your soul. Thus, conviction is worth dying for. Conviction must be made to be what it is-far, far greater than the weapons of hell. Conviction is your weapon.  Armed and shot by angel hands, conviction is what wins souls out of Satan’s grasp into the kingdom. Take your stand on conviction. My soul is bound to the Word of God. It is unsafe for a Christian man to go against his own conscience. Here I stand. I can do no other. So, help me God.

  1. Conviction, seized by the soul, must be grasped by faith, a faith that is unconquerable, the faith of Jesus. Conviction must seize and take possession of the soul, so that a person will die for it, because it is the presence and voice of God in the soul. Conviction born of the Holy Spirit is the shield of Omnipotence over your soul. Faith in the unseen things of the kingdom of God and His Word, held by the soul in conviction, is your shield. Learn to use your shield. The authority of God Himself is infinitely greater than any pressure from hell exerted in cell groups, any board meeting, and any collection of diapraxing pastors, elders, or interrogators.

  1. Pick your terrain for the fight.  Fight on ground, good ground, ground of the Holy Spirit’s choosing If at all possible, you choose the battlefield. Do not let the enemy choose the terrain, and arrange things in such a way to try to overwhelm your faith and conviction. Do not venture to do battle on the devil’s ground. However, if you are compelled for reasons beyond your control to fight on unequal ground, on the devil’s ground, you will have to pay all the more attention to the supreme value of your convictions, which are of more value than life itself, and give good attention to the use of the weapons in your arsenal.

  1. Your task is too instill conviction in the hearts of as many as are willing. When confronted with the enemy, work on the conscience of those using diaprax to instill conviction in them. Remember, a person using diaprax can not be a Christian, for diaprax is the weapon to destroy faith, conviction, judgment, and sound wisdom. Diaprax is the weapon, formed in hell, to destroy conviction. But your weapon is conviction.

  1. Pastors, elders, and other such who use dialectical praxis in an attempt to subvert conscience and conviction, but who appeal to “church authority” for their actions, must be seen exactly and precisely for what they are-emissaries and apostles from the bottomless pit, using the favored weapon of the Jesuit Order. Thus they have no authority, for they have forfeited all claim to authority by being servants of Satan. They are in the same position as Caiaphas, Annas, and the pope. You do not give them any authority in your soul-the fortress held by Christ.

  1. On the other hand, the name of Christ is the source of your authority. “Christ’s name was to be their watchword, their badge of distinction, their bond of union, the authority for their course of action, and the source of their success. Nothing was to be recognized in His kingdom that did not bear His name and superscription.” AA 28.

  1. Conviction is your authority, for it is the voice of God, the voice of the Holy Spirit, in your soul. When he (the Holy Spirit) is come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness and of judgment, Jesus said, “Conscience is the voice of God, heard amid the conflict of human passions; when resisted, the Spirit of God is grieved.” 5T 120.

  1. However, your conscience must be trained in the Word of God to faithful, prompt, and clear-cut obedience.  You must never weaken your conscience by going against it, for it is your great shield wall line of defense for your soul. The conscience must be formed in submission to Christ alone, in subjection to the Word of Christ, in harmony with the law of God, and every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Conviction is your sword of the Spirit-the Word of God. You need to learn how to wield your weapon. Jesus said, He that does not have one, let him sell his coat and get a sword.  Luke 22:36. Part with anything rather than your sword. You need to learn how to fight for your soul with the sword of the Spirit.

  1. Conscience is more important than all else beside, more important than church membership, for the hierarchy will try to strike fear in the heart of the dissenter-the fear of excommunication, of isolation, of rejection.

  1. But Jesus says, take up your cross, the cross of rejection, shame and reproach for Christ’s sake, for the Holy Spirit’s sake, for conscience’s sake. That is why Jesus said take up your cross. When you lift the cross, it lifts you, and separates you from Satan’s power. Rejoice in rejection, in shame, in reproach for Christ’s sake! That is the weapon of the Christian. The martyrs went to the stake to be burned to death singing! Peter sang in prison. He considered the reproach of a death on the cross to be too great an honor, so he asked to be crucified upside down.

  1. Understand the power and the glory of standing alone. There is infinite power in standing alone on a conscience forged by the Holy Spirit in the Word. Your aloneness amplifies the presence of the Almighty in you. He that is you is more powerful than the world and all else. One with God is a majority. You must be prepared to stand-alone.  All men forsook your Master, Christ. “All forsook Him and fled.” Mark 14:50. Paul had all forsake him. 2 Timothy 4:16. You must learn the power of being alone, under God.  Luther declared, you must fear me, precisely because I am alone, and you are many. The power of the gospel lies in you forsaking all for Christ. You have nothing to hold you back from the ultimate freedom of following the Holy Spirit, the Author of Liberty, in full freedom of conscience.
