- Revelation
1:10. The Lord has a day

This text doesnt tell
us what that day is, but
obviously, the Lords
day is not just any
day. The Lord has a special
day.
- Matthew
12:8. Jesus is Lord of
the Sabbath day. Therefore,
the Lords day is the
Sabbath day. However, this
text still doesnt tell
us which day is the Sabbath
day.
- Exodus
20:8-11. The seventh day
of the week is the
Sabbath-the Lords day.
It is the weekly birthday of
our world!
- Genesis
2:1-3. God made the
Sabbath at the creation of
our world, long before there
was Jew or Gentile.
Therefore, the Sabbath
belongs to all humanity, not
to any one race of people.
God did three things to make
the Sabbath His special day:
He rested on it; He blessed
it; and He sanctified it-set
it apart for a holy use.
- Colossians
1:14-17. Jesus is the
Creator of Genesis. He made
our world and everything in
it. Jesus is the One who made
the Sabbath in the beginning.

on earth, Jesus kept the
Sabbath.
- Luke
23:54-24:1. At His
crucifixion, our
Creator-Redeemer rested on
the Sabbath from His finished

Sabbath at Creation after He
finished His work.
- Matthew 24:
15-20. Jesus predicted
continued Sabbath observance
following His death and
resurrection. He spoke of the
Sabbath in connection with
the destruction of Jerusalem
that took place forty years
later.
- Acts 17:2.
Paul kept the Sabbath during
his ministry as an ongoing
practice. He had no doubt as
to which day of the week was
the Sabbath. In fact, the
books of Acts records
repeated instances of the
apostles worshiping on the
seven-day Sabbath.

16:13; 18:4.

a sign of our salvation and
redemption.

- Isaiah
66:22,23. In the new
earth, after sin has been
destroyed, the redeemed will
worship on the Sabbath just
as Adam and Eve did before
sin arose in the Garden of
Eden.
- Revelation
22:14. God is leading
earnest Christians back to all
of His commandments. A
rebellious people were
separated from the tree of
life in the Garden of Eden
when sin came. An obedient
people will be given access
to the tree of life in
Paradise when sin is done
away with forever.
