Blessed is he
that readeth, and they that hear the
words of this prophecy, and keep
those things which are written therein:
for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:3
The Remnant Church
Lesson 26
Marking Code: R
Marking Color: Black
Key Text: Revelation 12:1
- Revelation
12:1. The history of the
Christian church is outlined
in the prophecy of Revelation
12. Symbolic prophecy is
used, not to mystify, but to
make plain. The Bible also
provides a key to unlock the
meaning of the symbols used.
This helps to resolve many of
the perplexities about the
book of Revelation.
- Jeremiah
6:2. Gods
people-the daughter of
Zion-are compared to a
lovely, delicate woman. The
character of the woman
indicates the character of
the church represented. A
pure woman represents a
church that is faithful to
its Lord. An impure woman
(Revelation 17:3-5)
represents a fallen church.
2 Corinthians 11:2.
- Revelation
12: 2-6, 13, 14. Satan
attempted to destroy the
Christ child and the Early
Church through Rome-in both
its pagan and papal phases.
Rome forced Gods
remnant church into exile.
- Revelation
12: 15, 16. Persecution
during the Dark Ages (A.D.
538-1798) was accomplished by
a flood of false doctrine
that nearly obliterated
Gods true church. When
the reformation made clear
many forgotten truths, Satan
relaunched his attack on
Gods remnant church.
- Revelation
12:17. The Bible gives
two identifying
characteristics of Gods
remnant church in the last
days: It will keep Gods
commandments, and it will
have the testimony of Jesus.
- Proverbs
4:18. God wants us today
to rediscover neglected truth
that has been hidden so that
our walk with Him will grow
clearer and brighter as we
follow His truth.
R-End.
