Biblical Reason No 3

7,000 year Redemptive Plan

God established a 7,000-year redemptive plan of salvation that was pattered after the week of creation. (God created the Earth in six days and rested on the seventh.) It is important to God that we understand this plan because the Bible consistently reveals stories that parallel this 7,000-year plan.

This plan bean before sin came into the world. When the Lamb was set aside. (Genesis 3:15) It was the time when the current cycle of civilization was beginning. Jesus, (the Lamb of God) stepped between Eve and the executing angel who was sent to kill them on the very day they sinned, and agreed to die in their place for their sin.

After 4,000 years, the Lamb (Jesus) lived among us and then was killed. After 2,000 more years the Lamb will return to begin the day of the Lord, followed by 1,000 years rest. At the end there will be a new heaven and earth, a place where death and time no longer are no longer part of our existence.

This pattern was also established with the 70 years of Babylonian captivity. Babylonian captivity was exactly 70 years in length because Israel and Judah violated 70 Sabbath years. The end-time parallel reveals that because the Earth has sinned and defiled God’s land for 6,000 years, the Earth will get a rest it deserves for 1,000 years of rest. This pattern shows the limit of 7,000 years (70 centuries) in God’s plan.

More details can be provided, but I mention just a few parallels and patterns of this plan from God’s Word. Lazarus was sick 2 days, dead for 4 days and resurrected on the seventh day. (John 11) Slaves worked 6 years and were set free in the seventh year. (Exodus 21:2) King Solomon built six steps to his throne and the 7th was his throne. (2 Chronicles). King Josiah was hidden in the temple of God for six years, and crowned King of Israel in the seventh year. (II Kings 11: 1-4, 17-21)

John 1 & 2 outlines a wedding banquet on the seventh day. John goes forth on the forth day as Jesus went forth from Galilee on the fourth millennium. After three more days, on the seventh say was a wedding banquet in Heaven at the conclusion of the 7,000 years.

Joshua marched around Jericho for 6 days and on the sixth, the walls fell down. The victory was delivered to Israel on the seventh day. (Joshua 6:3-6)

After God brought down fire on Mt. Carmel and consumed Elijah’s’ sacrifice and the priest of Baal were destroyed, Elijah prayed for rain six times and nothing happened. When he prayed the seventh time, there appeared a cloud “as small as a man’s hand,” and rain poured out of heaven. (1 Kings 18:38-46)

Crops were to be planted for six years and in the seventh, the land was to rest. (Exodus 23:11, Leviticus 25:4)

Jesus predicted to His disciples that some of them would not see death until they saw Him coming in His kingdom. (Matthew 16:27,28). Six days after that statement, on the seventh day, Peter, James and John witnessed Jesus’ transfiguration into divine glory.

(Matthew 17:1-9)

The other examples, parallels and patterns appear in the stories of, Jacob, John the Baptist, Ezekiel and the Feasts.

Israel’s first full year in the Promised Land was the seventh year (Joshua 5:11) Adam and Eve’s first full day in Eden was the seventh day. The saints will enter the new heaven and new earth in the seventh millennium.

Reason number 3 leaves us with Conclusion number 3:

That after 6,000 years of Earth’s history, the 1,000 years spoken of in the book of Revelation will immediately follow. It also concludes that after 7,000 years, we will be in the New Heaven and New Earth.
