Matthew 24:38   For in the days before the Flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;

Matthew 24:39   and they knew nothing about what would [suddenly] happen until the flood came and took them all away…

The coming wrath of God will be horrible, it will come suddenly, but there is nothing to fear if we abide in Christ.

God has something to say to the human race and He will get our attention so that everyone can hear, but many will not heed.

During the Great Tribulation, God’s servants, the 144,000, will proclaim a gospel that is contrary to what mankind has thought about God.

The gospel of Jesus Christ will separate the people of Earth into two groups.

The wicked will hate it and the honest in heart will embrace it.

So, What is coming? The wrath of God. Why is it coming? Because a majority of people on Earth has become hopelessly wicked.

Remember, when extended mercy has no redemptive effect, God’s patience ends and His wrath breaks out.

It’s the only was a God of love can stop endless cycles of violence and degenerate behavior.

OK, now we know what is coming. And now that we know why God’s wrath is coming.

We will consider “When is it coming?” in the next segment.

Thus far, we have considered what is coming and why God’s wrath will breakout.

In this segment, we will examine the question: “When is God’s wrath coming?”

To my knowledge, God has not given a specific date for the commencement of the seven trumpets.

If this is true, no one knows or can know the day or the hour that the seven trumpets will begin.

Does this mean that we are left in the dark?

The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:4, “But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.”

OK, this is puzzling.

What does Paul mean?

What light has God shed on the timing of this coming wrath?

Here’s one clue:

KJV 1 Thessalonians 5:3, “For when they say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction [God’s wrath] cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

OK, Paul knew that God’s wrath would begin when the world is seeking peace and safety.

Paul also knew that God’s wrath is coming upon the world:

Colossians 3:5   “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:  sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Colossians 3:6   Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.”

Has God provided any other clues on the timing of the seven trumpets?

Please consider four things:

First:   God did not declare a date for the birth of Christ in the Old Testament.

But, the wise men assembled all of the clues that God had given them and they figured out a window of time for Christ’s birth.

When they saw the star, they recognized the sign for what it was.

The wise men did not chase shooting star.

No!   They were waiting and watching for a divine sign and when they saw the unusual star in the east, they connected the dots.

They undertook a long and difficult journey to see and worship baby Jesus and notice the evidence of their faith when they stood before King Herod:

Matthew 2:2   “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”

Summarizing Point #1: Even though God may not declare the date of a prophetic event, God does provide clues that are understood on or about the time of fulfillment.

When the clues are properly assembled a “window of time” is discovered and “expectation” begins.
