The Second and Third Angel’s Messages

This union is called “adultery” because the church belongs to Christ; the ways of the church are not to be the ways of the state. But, the religions of the world will commit adultery with the political leaders of the world because all nations will drink in the intoxicated idea that God can be appeased through legislation. Thus: “Babylon….will make all nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.”

 

All nations will “drink” in the false premise that God’s wrath can be appeased through the enforcement of laws regarding worship and repentance.

 

While man is trying to appease God, mankind makes a big mistake. The devil seizes the moment and takes over. He now has the perfect tool to destroy the remnant of the woman.

 

How clever!

 

The first angel’s message will demand that everyone worship the Creator on the day that the Creator made holy at the time of Creation! This day is Saturday, the seventh day of the week.

 

Babylon will also require that all nations to worship God on his holy day.

 

There will be Friday laws in Moslem countries.

There will be Saturday laws in Israel.

There will be Sunday laws in Catholic and Protestant countries.

 

Countries like India and China that do not have a weekly holy day per se may select a day of the week that seems best to them. The net effect though is that suddenly, everyone will be required by law to worship God on “a holy day.”

 

In this context, the question and a controversy will arise. Which day is holy to God? The 144,000 will declare the fourth commandment. The leaders of Babylon will attempt to nullify the first angel’s demand by appealing to its traditions.

Persecution begins. Those refusing to worship on Friday in Moslem countries will be persecuted and the same holds true in each nation. There will be a great deal of persecution over the topic of worship.

 

Revelation 13:6   He [the composite beast] opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.

 

Revelation 13:7   He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

 

Revelation 13:8   All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.”

 

But, Jesus will use the persecution of the 144,000 and His saints to accomplish several wonderful objectives! Jesus can make lemonade out of lemons.

 

The first objective will be that if suddenly making the worship of our Creator important. When worship itself becomes a hotly controversial debate around the world, people will begin to ask, what does the Bible say about worship?

 

Then, the second angel’s message will be a defiant declaration that Babylon is corrupt. Babylon stands in opposition to everything that God wants. As time passes, sincere people will see the blasphemy of Babylon and many will join with the 144,000 and denounce Babylon.

 

The leaders of Babylon will foolishly think they are speaking for God.

 

Revelation 13:5   The [composite] beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months.

 

The duration of the first and second angel’s message is lengthy because Jesus wants everyone on Earth to have time enough to understand who He really is, what He is doing for man’s salvation and why He sent the first four trumpets.

 

The 144,000 will be teaching and preaching everyday. Millions of people will rejoice to receive the light of truth as they study Bibles that were translated and distributed during the second seal.

The second angel’s message will infuriate the leaders of Babylon because they will insist on the implementation of laws that oppose the law of God.

 

This is how the people of Earth will be caught between the wrath of God and the wrath of Lucifer. The first and second angel’s messages will be proclaimed concurrently. The first angel’s message will last 890 days and the second angel’s message will last 824 days. Then, the third angel’s message will begin when the devil arrives on the 891^st day.

Remember, the fifth trumpet occurs when the gospel stalls. At that time, most people on Earth will have made up their minds on the question of worship. Therefore, God releases a strong delusion! The delusion is the appearing of the devil masquerading as Almighty God.

 

Revelation 14:9   A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand,

 

Revelation 14:10   he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which ahs been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb.

 

Revelation 14:11   And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.”

 

Revelation 14:12   This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful in this message.

 

There are several important elements in this message.

 

1.   Timing:   This message is presented to the world by the 144,000 when the devil physically appears. He is the lamblike beast from the abyss, he is the angel king released from the bottomless pit.

 

After the devil appears, he will torment the non-religious wicked who stand in opposition to His assertion that He is God. (The religious wicked will receive Him ad God and God does not permit the devil to touch those who have the seal of God.)

 

After five months of establishing his authority over the people of Earth, the devil will order the leaders of Babylon to set up an “image to the beast.” This occurs at the time of the sixth trumpet. 

 

The image will be a consolidation of the world’s composite/diverse religions into a one-world church/state. Lucifer will rule as Lord of lords (over religion) and King of kings (over state). The world will be his for a short period of time. A possession he has coveted for 6,000 years.

 

Everyone refusing to obey his commandments will become targets of death.

 

Revelation 13:15   He [the lamblike beast] was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

 

Revelation 13:16   He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,

Revelation 13:17   so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.”
